Step-by-Step Brand Strategy & Design Process for Solopreneurs

HOW I GUIDE YOU TO BUILD A STRONG, ALIGNED BRAND

You might wonder what it’s like to work with me as your brand designer and strategist, and how your business could benefit from it.

Today, I want to give you a simple breakdown of the steps and processes we’d go through when working together.

The very first step is the one you need to take, and that’s reaching out to me and making a connection. As service providers, it’s completely natural (and often necessary) to reach out to those clients you know they’d be a dream to work with, but I’ve found the best connections & results happen when you make the first move. That’s because it means the timing is right for you, and you’ve already taken a few steps away from fear, blocks, and doubts. You’re probably at that point in your journey where you know you need (and want) that extra bit of support.

So, the first step is to connect and have a Discovery Call.
We start with a relaxed conversation (like a coffee chat!) where I get to know you, your story, your vision, and the heart behind your business. It’s that simple!

Discovery calls are great because we both get to see if we’re a good fit for each other.
After our discovery call, if your answer is “Yes! Let’s do it!”, we can begin our creative journey together.

Next, we move into a Brand Audit (if needed).
If you already have some branding in place, we review what’s working, what’s missing, and what might need a refresh.

Once we’ve completed your Brand Audit, the next step is to Deep Dive into your Brand Foundations.
I always start here, in the Deep Dive, where together we explore your brand essence, your values, mission, vision, personality, and ideal clients. This is the soul of your brand, the part you want to know and understand before you do anything else.

Alongside the Deep Dive/Brand Foundation, we put together a Strategy Mapping.
I gather all the information you’ve shared with me and translate everything we’ve uncovered into a clear and simple brand strategy. This becomes your guiding light for everything that follows. Through this process, we refine your brand essence and niche in on your dream clients.

The creative and fun part comes next, the Visual Direction for your business and brand.
We create a visual mood board that captures the feeling of your brand, colours, fonts, imagery, and style, to make sure we’re aligned with your brand essence before designing anything.

And then, the Design Phase can begin!
Here’s where the magic happens!!! I bring your brand to life (or you DIY it if that’s your preference, of course with my guidance) through logo design, typography, colours, and all the visual elements, making sure everything feels YOU.

The Design Phase usually includes a few rounds of Feedback & Refinements.
You review the first concepts, and we fine-tune together until everything feels aligned and exciting.

The end goal comes into view with the Final Delivery.
Once you’re happy, I package up your final brand assets neatly, along with guidelines so you can confidently use your brand moving forward. You might also receive templates that you can DIY with your newly created brand identity.

And my support doesn’t end here, your brand is a living, evolving expression of you and your business. Whether you need extra designs, brand coaching, or just a check-in, I’m always here for Optional Ongoing Support.
